What is a Comparator?

The concept of a comparator only applies to direct discrimination. This page tells you about types of comparator, comparators for the different protected characteristics, and how to construct a comparator for your direct discrimination claim.

Section 13 of the Equality Act 2010 says that direct discrimination is when your employer treats you less favourably than he treats or would treat others because of your protected characteristic and you are worse off because of that treatment.
