The Equality Act 2010 prohibits direct and indirect discrimination, harassment and victimisation in respect of nine protected characteristics. These are age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation.
